One hundred and twelve South Australians keep this sanctuary running around their jobs, their study and their families. There is a role here that fits your week.

12+ months
Home carer
Raise one or two joeys in your own home, with three-hourly feeds at first. The most demanding role we have, and the one that saves the most lives.

On-call shifts
Rescue driver
Respond to callouts across your region, transport animals to vets and carers, and check pouches at roadside. A reliable vehicle is required.

From home
Pouch maker
Sew or knit cotton and woollen pouch liners to our patterns. Entirely home-based and perfect if you cannot travel to us.

One day a month
Paddock crew
Maintain soft-mesh fencing, shelters, water points and pre-release yards. Practical outdoor work with a small, friendly team.

Rostered weekends
Weekend feeder
Prepare and deliver feeds to the pre-release paddocks, record weights and flag anything that looks wrong to the coordinator.

Flexible
Fundraising and events
Run market stalls, approach local businesses, write grant applications and help us tell the story of the animals in our care.

A full-day workshop covering handling, first aid, feeding and the law.

Buddy up
Your first three months are shadowing an experienced carer or rescuer.

You must be 18 or over to care for animals unsupervised, and home carers need a quiet space away from pets. Everything else we will teach you.
Training intakes run in February, June and September, with rescue driver induction available year round.
